About this deal
A small group of friends gets liquored up and summon a witch that they saw on the tv show Debbie Does Demons. Farmer gives his fans pretty much exactly what they’d want and expect from him at this point in his career, and that isn’t necessarily a bad thing.
There’s also footage of vampire nuns presented as part of Debbie’s show that has the feel of their work as well. Right, well with a title such as "Debbie Does Demons", then you pretty much know what kind of garbage you will be in for when you sit down to watch it. During Donald Farmer's introduction, he talks about how over-the-top Jessa Flux can be and why he wants that kind of performance. Farmer, who directed and co-wrote Debbie Does Demons with Newt Wallen (River Beauty, Swamp Zombies 2) don’t seem too interested in developing a plot, just in finding reasons to show Ms. Debbie hosts a horror show that a girl watches so when she summons an evil sorceress, she turns to Debbie for help.Somehow, she’s gone from being a vampire to being a powerful witch, but she’s still extremely dangerous and very scantily clad, as the witch hunter Mocata (Jocephus Brody, Hurt Doll, Bigfoot Exorcist) finds out. The acting performances in "Debbie Does Demons" were amateurish, wooden and rigid, to say the least.
And having a cast ensemble with unfamiliar faces and talents is usually something I enjoy when I watch a movie, but "Debbie Does Demons" was just not my cup of tea. Director Donald Farmer is one of the OG's of SOV horror going back to the 1980s with films like CANNIBAL HOOKERS and DEMON QUEEN.To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Unfortunately, the episodic nature of Debbie Does Demons means it never has a chance to build the kind of atmosphere that fits these images. But I have to say that I found it to be pointless, sleazy and just not very helpful to further the already staggering storyline.
