About this deal

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Though the romance is front and centre, the book explores so much more, imagining where we’d be now if our leaders had made different choices. The story is told in a dry and witty style, the e-mail correspondence between Nick and Bee in particular is always very sharp and engaging, the chemistry between them very apparent in their banter and how they spark off each other. As well as the story, I found this a joy to read as the tone is contemporary, funny and dry, and it cracks along at a fast pace.

He is also, I am sure, equally aware that it is the right of the reader to interpret whatever they read through their own lens, in strict defiance of the author if needs be. Bee seems nice, successful, and smart, but Nick is in such a slump of feeling sorry for himself and inertia, that about the only reason I cared about him was because he loves his dog, Rosie, and because he is pretty funny. Selected by veteran F1 journalist Brad Spurgeon, Formula 1: The Impossible Collection chronicles the milestones that lifted Formula One from a gentlemen’s club in 1950 to a global sport with hundreds of millions of fans around the world, third in popularity only to the Olympics and World Cup soccer. You are wondering if the sweater altered my running ability, or my ability to reach the speed of light by throwing the future into the past and being the mechanism that turns the world. This is so not what you expect when you first start reading, it’s a very different, a quite original go with the flow read for ultimate enjoyment.

Bee can’t help but reply to the random sender but she never expects to strike up a friendship with a man she knows nothing about. That is the question posed in this UNEXPECTED love story, written by British FANTASY Award recipient Sarah Lotz.

Yet the blurbs on this new title were from folks I trust like Jon Klassen and Jon Scieszka and Annie Barrows. Bee and Nick face impossible odds but they do say love conquers all - whether it can in this case I'll leave you to find out for yourselves and I highly recommend that you do. Beautiful timepieces invite us to join a story, and the narrative that these 100 examples unfold is that of one of the most exciting and dynamic periods in human history.

In discovering an alternate universe, the protagonists also learn what their own lives may have been like had they made different choices. This handcrafted Ultimate Collection volume features hand-tipped images and is presented in a luxury clamshell case.

In any case, I did appreciate the love story between Zach and Lucy, and I felt sympathetic toward both young characters. The twist frustrated me at first, and I couldn’t wrap my head around it…making the next few chapters unenjoyable. Much of the book is spent with the two trying to have relationships with their alter-versions with the weak premise that they are "essentially the same people".I’m not sure all science fiction fans will be thrilled because this one is more heavy on romance and lighter on the sci-fi side but I found it to be incredibly engaging being a lover of both genres. I would have loved for there to be a scene with Henrietta where she brings Nick somewhere as part of a study on parallel worlds.

The artwork consists of double-page spreads reproducing magnificent fine art landscapes into which Harris has seamlessly inserted Johannes, cleverly adapting to each painter’s style and color palette.I laughed and cried a bit during this story and I have never NEVER begged more whilst reading a book for it to have a happy ending. As this meticulous and pacy book makes clear, any attempt to challenge the Establishment is a hard and unforgiving path – and not for the faint-hearted. Johannes, the Eyes of the park, who runs like light, who sees you but is never seen, is a dog who wants nothing more than to be free.
